"Muldoon's Favorite", also known as "Colonel Wemys' Reel", "The Devil in a Bush", "Kincaldrum",
"Kurcaldrum's Reel", "Parson in the Suds", "The Maid of Argyle' Reel" is a Scottish reel in G Major.
The parts are played AB.
The nearly identical "The Maid of Argyle' Reel" is printed four pages away in Ryan's/Cole's. The
differences are that "The Maid" is printed in 1/16th notes with repeated parts while "Muldoon's"
is in 1/8th notes with no repeats.
Despite the Irish-sounding "Muldoon" title, the reel is Scottish.
It was printed in
Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883),
White's Unique Collection (1896),
Cole's 1000 Fiddle Tunes (1940) and
Page's Northern Junket, vol. 8, No. 7 (1966).
